***Spoilers***

Dexter is dead. Now what? A spin off with Harrison? Maybe. Maybe not. Do the fans want this? Do the fans deserve it? It remains to be seen. All I do know is Dexter is dead. Fans of Dexter have impatiently waited for a Dexter revival (after 10 years of whining, and petitioning).

But was it worth it? Personally I think it was. Not because of the original ending. I didn't have an issue with that. I'm a sucker for revivals in general. Anytime there's a chance to bring a property back from the grave, I'm always excited to see how they breathe new life into it. I have to clarify I didn't watch Dexter during it's original run. So when they announced this sequel series I knew it was finally time to binge, and see what all the hype was about. I went into Dexter completely blind. I only knew people were mad about the ending. So now Dexter: New Blood has come to a close. And guess what? Those die hard fans are still mad, and complaining about the ending. So my question remains...what is wrong with fandom? My take is these fans have a certain ending in their minds, and don't want to leave those preconceived notions at the door.

Now let's talk about the actual ending. I honestly didnt see Dexter going out like that. They did make this new show about Dexter, and his connection with Harrison. So in the context of this show it was a fitting end. As for the original Dexter show. It was a little disappointing considering they went out of their way to bring back Batista. I feel we didnt get that final resolution with him. But it's not the Batista show after all. As a new fan of Dexter. I could say the binge was worth it in the end.
